Venture Capital

We invest in companies with proven business models that require growth capital and managerial support in order to professionalize their operations (Growth Equity). We also invest in innovative startups looking to address unmet needs through better products, services and processes in attractive markets (Venture Equity).

ABOUT:

Gerbera Capital Venture/Growth Equity is a management platform for venture capital and private equity funds that seek to invest in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) offering attractive growth potential primarily in sectors which we consider will benefit from certain “Megatrends”.

We aim to address the substantial need for funding and professionalization that exists in Mexico by focusing our investment efforts on companies that lack scale and which require guidance in administrative, operational, fiscal, legal and financial matters in order to reach their growth potential.

We seek to invest in carefully selected companies where we can have a significant impact through the implementation of our model.

Our investment and management process follows a proprietary methodology (Venture Equity®) that allows us to better align the incentives of all stakeholders and develop a close working relationship with our investee companies.

SUCCESS STORIES (CASE STUDIES)

Autorenta Testarosa
In 2000, in light of the attractive economic outlook and the growing demand for the transportation of goods, we identified an opportunity to provide transportation services to self-service stores. Moreover, at the time, there was limited capacity in the market to transport perishable and non-perishable products simultaneously. Autorenta Testarosa addressed this opportunity by providing funding for the purchase of refrigerated trucks, which represented a compelling proposition for large supermarket chains such as Walmart and Comercial Mexicana. Metros Cúbicos
Between 1998 and 1999, the number of internet users in Latin America was growing at a 116% annual rate. During this same time period, the Mexican housing market was also experiencing an accelerated growth rate. It was with these trends in mind that Metros Cubicos was created, providing an online platform aimed at bridging the information gap between real estate buyers and sellers in Mexico. Today Metros Cúbicos is the number one real estate platform in Mexico, generating over 260,000 connections between interested buyers and sellers. We exited the investment in August 2007, through its sale to a strategic buyer. Industry:
